A fantastic opportunity is available for a Business Analyst to support the delivery of the programme through design, development, testing and implementation. This is a fixed term contract for a minimum six month period. Your role is primarily to conduct detailed analysis and product/process design, taking consideration of the business requirements to create outline specifications and feasibility proposals.
You will be required to work in our Derby office, so must be highly organised and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
Manage detailed business and systems analysis and documentation of requirements, functional and non-functional and obtain agreement and authorisation.
Hand over specifications to chief architect to create architecture documentation to ensure technical team can develop technical specifications that meet the business requirements and are in line with enterprise architecture.
Support the Delivery Manager and wider delivery team to ensure that everything within the BA’s authority is done to meet overall project delivery to time, quality and budget.
Create and maintain relevant artefacts as required by the programme.
Ensure that all product and project documentation is complete and fully handed over to Operations and support service acceptance activities.
Assist in developing business cases for proposed projects e.g. cost estimates, timescales etc.
Requirements elicitation - Enable the definition of business requirements, prepare feasibility studies and ensure that products meet the needs of the business.
Requirements management - Negotiate prioritisation requirements with Head of Product, Chief Architect and Subject Matter Experts
Communication - Communicate programme of work (progress reports & future plans) to Delivery Manager and recommend effective corrective action.
Stakeholder Management - Identify relevant stakeholders (clients, third party suppliers, internal team etc.) and their area and level of influence in each project. Manage the stakeholders and communicate appropriately to avoid escalations resulting from BA deliverables or processes.
Continuous process improvement - Identify measures to improve delivery and customer satisfaction.
The successful applicant will have:
Previous experience in a similar analytical role, ideally within a software environment or experience in engaging with software development teams and test teams.
Experience in digital software development projects and delivery methodologies.
A sound understanding of the software development lifecycle and familiarity with project management concepts.
A good understanding and demonstrable practical experience of the application of different business analysis tools and techniques and their impact on project success.
Experience in retail/ecommerce platform including developing apps would be advantageous.
Advanced proficiency with JIRA, Diagramming Tools/Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project or MS Excel.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage diverse stakeholders, both internal and external
Ability to understand and analyses complex problems.
