Picsolve, the leading photo and video capture partner for world-class visitor destinations, celebrates the global success of its latest capture product, the Epic Selfie, now live in the UK, US and Asia regions.

The Epic Selfie technology, created by Picsolve’s centre of capture innovation Picsolve Lab, virtually places visitors into fantastic new worlds or iconic destinations, resulting in a highly shareable bitesize video that begins with a selfie and dramatically zooms out to reveal a panoramic backdrop.

The Epic Selfie creates the perfect, shareable moment for visitors every time as they are captured against a Picsolve Green Screen or Experience Wall installation, rather than in front of a distant camera.

Epic Selfie is the latest capture technology to come from Picsolve Lab, the visionaries that create inspiring new ways to capture moments of fun at the world’s best visitor destinations. They develop innovative ways to capture the moment's visitors cannot capture themselves that enhance the visitor experience for our partners.

After the launch of the Epic Selfie at the IAAPA Expo Asia in Shanghai earlier in the year, Picsolve’s newest content capture product has launched with great success around the globe at our partner's sites. Sites that have introduced the Epic Selfie include:

Europe – The London Eye

The first attraction to implement the Epic Selfie into their destination, The London Eye, one of Merlin Entertainments’ iconic London attractions, installed Picsolve’s new technology in June 2019. Visitors to the attraction are captured in the queue line green screen area, and following their ride on the eye, can purchase an exciting and unique piece of content which zooms out from a pose in one of the instantly recognisable capsules to the iconic London skyline.

The Epic Selfie video creates the perfect instantly recognisable and unique London souvenir for guests to share with their friends and family on social media or keep as a timeless reminder of their trip on the London Eye.

Asia – Studio City Macau

At Studio City Macau, the previous Super Selfie technology has been upgraded to an Epic Selfie, captured on a green screen at the destination. This allows guests to capture the perfect photo every time as the capture is no longer dependent on environmental factors like the weather. Guests can still take home a piece of content that they could never capture themselves in the form of a video which zooms out from posing guests to the instantly recognisable backdrop of Studio City.

This also allows the destination to amplify their visibility on social media platforms through compelling content shared by guests being instantly recognisable as the destination they visit.

US – Madame Tussauds New York

Epic Selfie reached the US in October 2019 with the installation of the technology at Madame Tussauds New York. Visitors to the attraction are captured on a green screen with an interactive King Kong handset and can purchase unique, interactive video content with King Kong, as well as two standard green screen photos.

The Epic Selfie at Madame Tussauds New York has been used to increase the range of exciting content a visitor can take home and share from a single capture opportunity, revamping the original green screen to allow their guests to take home more from their visit.
